WHERE THE FINISH WORKS

Define the finished product.

Cheek decoration

Create reflective accents on the outer cheek with a formulation and placement assessed for the intended use. Keep eye-area and lip products as separate development briefs.

Festival body glitter

Specify adhesion on the intended body area, resistance to wear, particle shedding and comfortable removal.

Ready-to-stick shapes

Assess the complete decorative piece, backing and adhesive. Confirm product classification and skin compatibility rather than transferring evidence from loose glitter.

YOUR DEVELOPMENT CHECKLIST

Specify the process.
Agree the acceptance checks.

Use these six points to prepare the sample brief. Set the test method and pass criteria for your finished product before approving a material.

RequirementWhat to specifyWhat to verify
Placement & wearCheek or body placement, wear duration, removal method and user age group.Evaluate the defined use; do not extend cheek/body evidence to eyelids, lips or mucous membranes.
Particle & coatingExact substrate, colourant, coating, shape, cut and size distribution.Assess edges, loose-particle shedding, migration and material identity in the safety review.
Adhesive systemReady-to-stick decoration, adhesive gel or loose glitter applied with a separate skin adhesive.Evaluate the final combination, adhesion during wear, removal and adhesive residue; glitter alone is not self-adhesive.
Skin compatibilityFinished formulation, dose, contact duration and intended population.Assessor-defined irritation and sensitisation programme, with a report tied to the exact sample.
Stability & hygieneShelf life, storage, packaging and preservation where relevant.Stability, microbiological quality and preservation efficacy as appropriate to the format.
Market & materialDestination market, product classification and polymer/coating identity.Check applicable cosmetic rules and EU REACH microplastics restrictions for the exact format; a biodegradable label alone is insufficient.

CONNECT THE SAMPLE TO ITS RECORDS

Build the material review file.

Request the following for the selected grade and project. The available documents below show their own sample identity and scope.

Composition, SDS & batch traceability
Request the substrate, colourants, coatings, adhesive ingredients, technical data and batch CoA. SDS describes hazards and handling; it is not a skin-safety certificate.
Skin compatibility testing
Ask a qualified safety assessor to define irritation and sensitisation testing for the finished glitter-and-adhesive system, including wear and removal. A dermatological patch-test report or HRIPT may support the assessment when appropriate; it does not prove suitability for every user or use.
Contaminants, microbiology & stability
Set grade-specific impurity and heavy-metal specifications. For gels and water-containing formats, assess microbiological quality and preservation; ISO 17516 and ISO 11930 may be relevant to the finished cosmetic. Review stability and packaging compatibility.
EU cosmetic compliance
Where the finished product is a cosmetic, establish an EU Responsible Person, Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR), Product Information File (PIF), GMP compliance and CPNP notification. ISO 22716 is a cosmetics GMP reference, not a skin-safety approval. Classify adhesive decorative articles before choosing the applicable framework.
US cosmetic requirements
Review the exact colour additives and permitted application areas, safety substantiation, labelling and applicable MoCRA duties. FDA registration or listing is not product approval. General cosmetic colour permission does not establish eye-area permission.
XUCAI evidence status
Current supplied materials do not establish a finished-product dermatological approval, CPSR, CPNP notification or ISO 22716 certification for this application. Existing ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 scans concern management systems and are historical; material test reports retain their stated sample and scope. Request current, grade-matched evidence before release.

Documentation for this selection

Start with the exact grade.

Documentation must be confirmed for your selected material, coating and colour. Request the current composition, technical data and relevant test evidence before making an environmental or application claim.

FROM PROCESS TO PARTICLE

A practical selection path.

01

Define the format

Choose loose glitter, a formulated gel or an adhesive decorative article.

02

Match the evidence

Link the exact material, adhesive and batch to the required safety records.

03

Approve the final system

Complete the relevant testing, assessment and market documentation before production release.

ON YOUR SAMPLE BENCH

Evaluate the complete finish.

  • Check wear, transfer and shedding under the defined conditions.
  • Evaluate removal, residue and packaging compatibility.
  • Use a qualified assessor to determine the required safety testing; do not substitute a home patch test for a safety assessment.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

Before you specify.

Can glitter stick directly to skin?+

Loose glitter is not self-adhesive. A ready-to-stick decoration includes an adhesive layer; other formats use a suitable cosmetic gel or adhesive. The complete system needs assessment for the intended use.

Is there one cosmetic glitter certificate?+

No single certificate covers all materials, adhesives, application areas and markets. Review composition, appropriate testing and the finished-product compliance file. Management-system certificates do not demonstrate skin safety.

Can the same material be used around the eyes?+

Do not infer eye-area suitability from face or body use. Assess the exact material, colour additives, placement and applicable restrictions separately.
